There should be no ramifications of altering the Tier 1-3 values.

In fact the new BMC product catalog import data mechanism allos the import
to be paused after the data is loaded in staging forms for the Tier 1-3
values to be changed.

ADDM hardcodes the Tier 1 to 'Software' and Tier 2 to 'Application'. Tier
3 is set according to the software found (eg 'Application Deployment
Software' for Java, .net, etc and 'Application Server Software Platforms'
for web servers such as tomcat.
