I'm trying to show/hide the web toolbar with one view.

We're always debating whether to hide or show the web tool bar. It is useful, but for some forms it makes sense to hide it for submitter. But then you end up with clunky views with extra activelinks, and frustration when you don't have the toolbar available when you need it.

So I thought there might be a solution in the middleground: hide the web toolbar but use some javascript to bring it back when hovering over a small strip, much like a hidden Taskbar/Dock that many OSes can provide. However, I can't seem to find any files to modify to affect this, and I'm worried it is all compiled and untouchable.

The other idea was to use the existing triangle button next to the web toolbar that collapses most of it. However, it defaults to expanded-- does anyone know if there is a way to change the default to start off collapsed?
