I confirmed same is true on our system - you may want to open a support
issue.

It took me a while to find 2 emails processed within same poll interval,
since we don't have that many incoming as you showed below.

I guess you could change the default order on the AR System Email
Messages form but that could affect outgoing email processing.

Andrew,

We are using MAPI. We tried changing the sort order in Outlook, but
it's still processing Last In First Out.

Here are the steps we followed in Outlook.

1. On the View menu, point to Arrange By, and then click Custom.
2. Click Sort.
3. In the Sort items by box, set it to Received and clicked the
radio button for Ascending.

I ran some tests through to submit 5 entries and they were created in
the exact opposite I sent emails. Then we cycled the email engine and
ran the tests again. The results were the same.

Thanks,

Mark Reahard

**

Is that using MAPI? I'm not sure Remedy is the cause here, e.g if using
outlook the newest received email is always at the top of the display
table - perhaps the solution is to change the default sort in the email
client you are interfacing with?

Subject: Email Engine processing order of incoming messages

Hello All,

While testing incoming email submits I noticed the email engine was
processing the emails last in first out. Unfortunately ,this is causing
my data to be out of sync. I need them to be processed first in first
out. I've looked through the Email Engine Administering guide, but
don't see any configuration parameters that look like they would affect
the order incoming email messages are processed. I'm hoping someone
knows something I'm overlooking or an undocumented feature.

I did a quick report from the AR System Email Messages form that shows
10 email submits. You can see they were created in the opposite order
they were received.

I've also looked at the data on the form the email submits are
submitting to and they're in the same order as the AR System Email
Messages entries.

We're running

AR Server version 7.0.01 Patch 009

AR Email Engine version 7.0.01 Patch 011

- We're using MAPI for incoming mail

Thanks in advance,

Mark Reahard
