Also.. .don't forget that cloning the environment requires you to make changes to your local config files and registry settings if your cloning it to a new server name. Like below, we don't clone the DB server but clone the app/web servers between dev/test/prod. Terry

That stays on the farm in RAC. The AR instances are licensed individually when the clone is up. Its because different customers have different license requirements so they can not have a one license fits all approach. There is no licensing with the midtier.
