If your adding custom fields to the CMDB core forms via the class manager, are you manually adding these same fields to the AST forms via the developer studio? If so, your doing it wrong. Your suppose to use the Sync feature which moves the fields from the CMDB classes to the AST classes for you.
When adding fields manually to a form, you can change the default value to pretty much any value you want. Once you save though, you can't change the ID.
