We actually create an HTML file in the AR System Email Templates form, then
refer to the html name in the Content, Header or Footer field on the Templates
tab of the filter.

We never did it the way you are doing it......

Thanks!

Subject: How to use an HTML template?

Hello there,

I've read the BMC Remedy Email Engine Guide but I'm not really getting it.

I want to send an Email and use an HTML template to do it.

The only thing that arrives in my mailbox is:

"------=_Part_1933319_8646463.1321290438759--"

HERE IS WHAT I TRIED:

I created a simple form and attached a filter to it. It fires when the status
changes.

I created one record. Here the field Short Description contains the name of the
Template in the AR System Email Template:

<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-us"> <meta
http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/ html;charset=windows-1252">
<title>Lighthouse</title> </head> <body> <p><font face="Arial Black">
RequestID: #$$Request-ID$$#</font></p> <p><font face="Arial Black"> Status:
#$$Status$$#</font></p> </body> </html>

And the $Short Description$ variable is entered into the Content field in the
notify action.

Now, I'm really not sure what I have to put into the Text field in the Notify
action of the filter and since I have the template -> why do I have to put into
this field? The template contains my content, right?

If I still have to put something into the Text field (Apparently I can't leave
this thing empty) then in what format?

Also, do I have to select any fields from the list "Include fields"?

Thanks
Mark
