Lisa are you typing in the command as you wrote below? open a DOS command box and type java, see what you get. If you get the error you are mentioning then you do not have java installed on the machine you are trying to run the command from. otherwise you will get the help from the java command. As for the import, you can run it from the ..\dataimporttool or the Developer Studio directory, you can also run it from a custom directory but then you have to make a slight change to the bat file.
