Chris, I only have a limited experience with setting up reporting server, but would try the following. Turn off the replication and make the tables on the reporting database writable. Start the server against the reporting database with SQL logging on and check what updates are issued against the database at start-up (you may even leave it running for a while). Based on the result, exclude all the tables that have been updated from the replication. Also do not forget you will need to licenses the reporting server in order to be able to use it (and as licenses are now stored in the database, this table will be another candidate for excluding from replication).
Hope this helps. The server is pointed to an Oracle 11G database that replicates with our production database using dataguard. When I start the reporting ARServer, I get a few errors in the arerror.log file pertaining to dataguard being enabled. When I login via the reporting server mid-tier, my session immediately freezes. The reporting AR Server is effectively non-functional when it points to the dataguard enabled reporting database as the database is essentially read-only. I have excluded the following tables from dataguard: USER_CACHE FT_PENDING T1620 RLE:Configuration Additionally, I have disabled escalations and alerts in the ar.cfg file and commented out everything but arserver, arplugin, and associated java references in the armonitor.cfg file ... all with no luck. Does anyone have any experience using an Oracle reporting database with dataguard against a search and reporting arserver?
