Hi,

If we are talking about the Fixed (named) licenses, the counting is not an
issue, right. It is just a matter of searching the License Type and
Application License fields in the User form.

The Floating (concurrent) licenses are more interesting, as they are
counted on the fly when they are "needed". The counting is not really that
hard, the problem is to understand when this "need" arise.

For the AR User license, it is quite easy. The system grabs the license
tooken, and allocates the license, as soon as you access data in the
system, such as searching, refreshing a table, or using a set-fields to
retrieve server data.

If AR User Floating license tokens were available, everything is ok. If
one was not available, the user gets a Floating Read instead. The error
message from having the Floating Read will not be given until the user
actually modifies data, which can confuse people.

As for the Application License, they work in the exact same way. The only
difference is that each application has a set of forms tied to it. Each
application form that requires a license is tagged with that application.

This explains why you see different last-access-times if you review a user
that has multiple application licenses.
