To add another wrinkle to that, if you use search menus in SRM, the data that appears in that drop down is also based on the sorting of your results list on a specific form. I had this happen when displaying a list of Incident templates from hpd:template and it the sorting had no order to it. It turned out the form's results list was sorted by the sort order field.
