Yes ... only 1 ARS server will be using the mount at a time so there is no issue anyway. We were using it from 2 ARS servers to 1 remote server with no problems

That way it will still look like it is local to ARS. I have used remote mounts when I needed to mv files for an app instead of using ftp and then doing a second pass to remove them from the remote server.
