Hello Paul, It mentioned in Sp2 tech bulletin that you need to install additional packages when you intsall 7.6.04 sp2 and later againest RHEL 6 and higher
The version 7.6.04 Service Pack (SP) 2 installers for BMC Remedy AR System and BMC Remedy IT Service Management (ITSM) Suite Preconfigured Stack are supported on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux® 6 operating system. Before you install BMC Remedy AR System 7.6.04 SP2 and BMC Remedy ITSM Suite Preconfigured Stack version 7.6.04 SP2, perform the following steps to installation the packages from the Red Hat install media: 1 Install the following 32-bit packages: ■ libX11-1.3-2.el6.i686.rpm ■ libXau-1.0.5-1.el6.i686.rpm ■ libxcb-1.5-1.el6.i686.rpm ■ libXext-1.1-3.el6.i686.rpm ■ libXi-1.3-3.el6.i686.rpm ■ libXtst-1.0.99.2-3.el6.i686.rpm If you do not install these packages (32-bit), you cannot use the GUI installers 2 Install the compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-69.el6.i686.rpm package. If you do not install compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-69.el6.i686.rpm, you cannot use the BMC Remedy AR System services. Under the /usr/lib directory, verify whether the libstdc++.so.5 library is present. This is a part of the compat-libstdc++-33 package. If you do not find the library, perform step 2. 4 Run the following commands to start the rpcbind process: A # service rpcbind stop B # rpcbind -i C # service rpcbind status 5 Start the BMC Remedy AR System installer. Before installing BMC Service Request Management, you must install the following packages: ■ ncurses-devel-5.7-3.20090208.el6.i686.rpm ■ ncurses-libs-5.7-3.20090208.el6.i686.rpm Hope this helps.
