JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS The System Application Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the Remedy Action Request System version 7.x. You will be responsible for gathering and documenting requirements and support the design and implementation of additional Remedy products, such as CMDB and ADDM. The System Application Administrator performs complex product design, system analysis and programming activities on application software to ensure that customer business needs are met. You will also be tasked with performing design, implementation and maintenance of complex multiple product modules/subsystems or on lower issues of multiple products to ensure proper functioning of products. As the System Application Administrator you will get to participate in product design meeting to ensure that design concepts are transferred into application development successfully; analyze design, development, deployment, installation, configuration, customization, troubleshooting & tuning the system and performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products; researches problems discovered by quality analysts or product support to ensure that appropriate solutions are developed. The System Application Administrator would be responsible for coordinating with appropriate management personnel in implementing changes; supporting complex data/media recover ability through system backups and database archive operations; developing and maintaining user documentation, including user manuals, quick references, and training documentation; diagnosing and repair problems within the Remedy system. The System Application Administrator plans, coordinates and directs appropriate level data refresh strategies; works with technical staff to understand problems with software to ensure that they are resolved in a timely manner; oversees, recommends and implements appropriate level database (SQL) solutions and enhancements to ensure an improvement in system reliability and performance. Installing, updating, and patching Remedy server to maintain system integrity. Essential Job Functions •Performs moderately complex systems and database administration. Monitors and tunes appropriate systems to ensure optimum level of performance. •Oversees appropriate level software installations and upgrades and related software packages. •Collects and reviews system data for capacity and planning purposes. Analyzes capacity data and develops capacity plans for appropriate level enterprise-wide systems. Coordinates with appropriate management personnel in implementing changes. •Supports the design and configuration of complex system landscapes. •Supports complex data/media recoverability through system backups and database archive operations. Plans, coordinates and directs appropriate level data refresh strategies. •Oversees, recommends and implements appropriate level database solutions and enhancements to ensure an improvement in system reliability and performance. •Oversees and applies appropriate support packages/patches to maintain system integrity. •Develops and maintains appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current. Oversees the maintenance of a library of system-supporting process and procedure documentation. •Interacts with client management to answer questions, problems and requests regarding complex system issues. •Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. Other Daily Functions: •Troubleshooting issues and working with the Data Center support teams to fix issues with the Remedy server. •Managing project to complete migration to new version of Remedy on new servers. •Develops and maintains appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current. •Oversees the maintenance of a library of system supporting process and procedure documentation. •Very good customer communication and interpersonal skills with clear verbal and written communications skills are a must. •Candidate must possess strong technical analysis skills and software development skills a plus. Qualifications Minimum of six (6) years of experience (in each category): Working with overall business/account objectives and goals Supporting client/server applications with an Oracle database backend Troubleshooting application connectivity/firewall issues Supporting Remedy ARS/ITSM applications in a Unix, Windows, and Oracle environment. Experience with Remedy CMDB and ADDM Discovery tool a plus. Experience with Remedy upgrade from v7.0 to v7.6.04 a plus.
