Magnus, Turn on Filter and API and SQL logging into the same file on the server, and wait about 2 min's after you try to create, and then attempt to isolate the individual transaction, and the start and end of the CE (Create Entry) API call related to your creation of a people record. For you this might be simplest if you turn on 'log by thread' so that you are only dealing with a single thread per file, shouldn't be hard to identify which thread your transaction is in. Once you have it down to the start/end of the call, you should be able to figure out what's causing the delay in processing.
