We have some AR System 7.1 servers (all custom forms, no ITSM) that we want to upgrade to 8.1. We currently are using only the UT as the client, but will be adding a mid-tier server as at least a potential front-end, since after 8.1, it's entirely possible that APIs/DLLs might change and cause the client to be unusable even for custom forms.
What we're looking for and not finding is the upgrade path for AR System. Can we go straight to 8.1 in one shot, or do we need to stop first at an intermediate version? I would suspect that it's recommended to stop at 7.6.x to add the proper overlay status to the forms, but if they'll never be upgraded by BMC, I fail to see the requirement of that.
