If you are interested to know from where error 149 is triggered, you can think of enabling dev studio side ARAPILOGGING, that will give you idea what calls and values triggers this error.

It seems to be specific to Developer Studio. Also, the way we resolve it is by removing the connection to that server, logging in to the others, then re-add it. That makes me think it's something specifically on the Developer Studio side where it's pulling some value and storing it somewhere, but I can't find anything like that in the files stored in the workspace.
