I have had this error happen a few times over the past few years - too few
times to make it worth the trouble to investigate the root cause of it.
Every time it happened and I restarted the system (Mid-Tier sometimes was
sufficient, but a couple of times I did have to restart the AR Server as
well), or closed and reopened the browser and tried again (if it was just
for one user), and it went away. Never really had it persist to the extent I
had to spend time to troubleshoot.
