Wasn't there a function that took a string and, presuming they were numbers, let you drop the integer equivalent into an int field? something like IntField=INTEGER($CharField$) I see currency conversion fields, but no text-to-number or number-to-text fields, and I know at least one direction will give you a mismatch error if you try just shoving one into another.
