I
discovered my mistake.
When
compiling perl, I used an old source that I had used on an HPUX machine.
in HPUX I had to compile ARSperl into perl statically so it was in the
library tree of the perl source. When I did the new Solaris install, I did
not get all of the older arsperl stuff out. I cleaned it out now and am
re-compiling perl. I hopes this helps anyone else whoe stumbles onto
this.

Subject: [Arsperl-users] arsperl on Solaris 10 with ARS 6.3Hello all, I've been installing arsperl on a new Sun Solaris 2.10 system.I used the package arsperl 1.85 (I hope this is the stable version that works with ARS 6.3) which I got off of CPAN.Everything compiled and installed without a hitch, when I actually ran it, however, I got the folowing error:----- Begin Paste ----[EMAIL PROTECTED]:# perl
use ARS;
ARS object version 1.84 does not match bootstrap parameter 1.8002 at /opt/perl5/lib/5.8.2/sun4-solaris/DynaLoader.pm line 249.
Compilation failed in require at - line 1.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at - line 1.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:#--- End Paste ---I noticed that in the downloaded package, the ARS.pm file has the line :$ARS::VERSION = '1.84';I couldn't find any files with 1.8002 in them so I'm not sure where that came from. Unless it got mixed up with my version of perl.here is perl -V----- Begin Paste -------[EMAIL PROTECTED]:# perl -V

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:#--- End Paste ---So which version of arsperl is this 1.85?, 1.84? or 1.8002?I was thinking I could just change the value in ARS.pm, but that doesn't explain how I can fix the 1.8002 issue.Any insight would be appreciated.Thanks,Brent
