Hi all,
some things to try and help out:
Stickers are easy:
- use a bleed background be it white or another color. (NO gradients)
the message needs to be read asap and any complicated background uses to
much brain to make it easy readable.
In my eyes it depends on the place where the sticker is used.
When you look at something with the intention to read a text the
logo (with or without the positioner) will be recognized and read at
first glance.
But if you don't want to read anything, just looking around you need
an "eye-catcher". There intensive colors - even with gradients - can
be more impressive than a single line (or two) of text.
So I'd propose both: One sticker with full sized logo and another
with logo and background (blue gradient with wire gulls).
- spread the message as big as you can keeping between 3 and 5 %
backgroound border and thus do not use drawn borders, hence they are not
a message
- if to put on a poster: maybe transparent with one color is nice?
screen print makes these really nice. Has a stamp effect.
Transparency is good - but our logo contains of two colors (black
and blue). Do you want to reduce it to black?
Otherwise it depends on the background you put it on: Our logo on a
purple red background doesn't look really good, I think.
- avoid using none message and none logo images ans additions (wired
gulls?) the take up space and are not a message and there is the brain
thing.
If you have a square sticker blue gradient and wire gulls don't
reduce the size of the logo - they are just above it. And if they
attract people to look at the logo, they are o.k. IMHO
But these are just different opinions - on principle questions, as
we discussed this topic already on other artwork.
Let's design some proposals and find out what we like most - and
hopefully we'll get answer from the people having asked for that
work about where to stick it and in which size.
Best regards
Bernhard
