Hi Manuel, A1: You are correct. A default repo.xml configuration is provided in the download zip. A2: Your Artifactory data can not switch storage automatically, so you do need to take down Artifactory, remove/rename your $ARTIFACTORY_HOME/ data and work folders(see wiki<http://wiki.jfrog.org/confluence/display/RTF/Changing+the+Default+Storage>). On the next start-up you should be good to go on oracle db, then import <http://wiki.jfrog.org/confluence/display/RTF/Importing+and+Exporting>a backup into it.
