Hi Alexander,
When creating a new artifactory user, the 'disable internal password' is
disabled and unchecked. The logic behind this is that, typically you would
not want to create a user that is not able to login later to artifactory.
However, when using LDAP, you can still edit the user after creation, in
order to authenticate him first through LDAP. If this fails Artifactory will
fall-back to the internal password (default for artifactory users) or if the
internal password is disabled authentication is made only with LDAP.
If you are creating a new admin user, the disable internal password checkbox
is always unchecked and disabled, so that admin users can always administer
Artifactory even if the LDAP server is down.
One more point, you can configure Artifactory to automatically create users
that are configured in LDAP, Please see
