Hi,
As I understand, you are referring to a situation where you would like Ivy
to resolve a revision based on module information that is available remotely
and is not cached by Artifactory yet. In this case, if you will use a Maven
resolver it should work. This resolver will consult the maven-metadata.xml
file for version information, and since this file is pulled from the remote
repository, it contains all versions, not just the ones that are already in
the cache.
Caching version information for non-maven remote artifacts could be an
interesting feature, so I suggets raising an issue request for this in our
JIRA.
