Hi Kostis,

The contents of the misc folder are not crucial for the upgrade process nor
are they used during runtime; they are provided to assist the user in
setting up common, but different environments such as a standalone Tomcat,
specific web.xml for WebSphere, etc.
In case you do utilize these files, it is a good idea to replace them when
upgrading.
We'll make sure to clarify this in the upgrade instructions page.
