We've got a problem with Artifactory hugely increasing the amount of disk
space its database occupies on the order of half a Gb per day.
A search turned up this thread

available solution.
I am using version 2.3.3, with the Derby database because we haven't used
any customised database at this point. We just switched to Artifactory from
Nexus and this issue is making me severely question that choice.
We are not using unique snapshots. We have told hudson not to do it and also
the artifactory snapshot repo. I went and deleted old snapshots from
projects and it made zero difference in the size that was occupied. I've
tried the "compress the internal database" option it likewise seems to make
no difference. A back up of our artefacts takes up 2.5G and artifactory data
directory is 30G. Its not like the number of externally
mirrors artefacts has massively increased over time either. This latter
number was about 21G week before last.
Artifactory installation dir is on a separate partition to where the data is
stored so this is not an issue of the Jetty logs or anything like that. I am
measuring purely the partition where Artifactory stores its files, which is
in /opt for us.
I have a complete history of the sizes because I've got a twice-daily cron
job running '/bin/df -h' and '/usr/bin/du - hs /opt/*'
/opt/artifactory-backups contains two backups of our release repo, today and
yesterday.
May 18:
3.9G /opt/artifactory-backups
15G /opt/artifactory-data
May 25:
4.3G /opt/artifactory-backups
20G /opt/artifactory-data
May 31:
4.7G /opt/artifactory-backups
24G /opt/artifactory-data
June 6:
4.9G /opt/artifactory-backups
28G /opt/artifactory-data
Today, June 8:
5.0G /opt/artifactory-backups
30G /opt/artifactory-data
As you can see since June 6 backups increased by 100Mb because one project
is doing bi-weekly release candidates at the moment but I don't see why that
creates 2GB of extra disk space in the overall data directory in two days.
On may 19, /opt ... a 50G file system, was 57% full. Today it is 92%. I'm
going to try to arrange to get some temp disk space tonight and do a full
export and re-import late in the day.
