thanks for your reply. The "problem" was, that we had switched "Allow anonymous
Access" on. After we turned that off, the authentification (and the delete
command) worked properly.
So, maybe that's a bug in Artifactory, that allowing anonymous access blocks
authentification via REST API?

Seems like the authentication doesn't get through to artifactory, that's why
the request is done by anonymous.
How are you trying to run the delete command?
Is it via curl or RESTClient
BTW, take look at this<https://github.com/JFrogDev/artifactory-client-java>,
you might find all your answers there.
