We currently are working on migrating from a single server installation hosting both Artifactory and MySQL. Just purchased new HA licenses. Our new approach is to set up 4 Artifactory servers and 2 MySQL instances. MySQL is only hosting the metadata with binaries going on NFS share between the servers. When it comes to setting up the MySQL instances I'm looking for recommendations on the best way to go. We'd like to have true HA, but it seems clustering MySQL may be overkill for our needs. One thought is to go to master/slave with replication and put them in front of an F5 load balancer with the master always taking the traffic until it fails and traffic is routed to the secondary. This has some inherent risks too. Can anyone provide their experience with migrating the app to HA enabled instances or suggestions? Thanks
