Hi Dan,
I’ve previously (in Artifactory 3.x) imported a backup/export into the same
repo and, indeed, it just added any artifacts which were in the backup but not
currently in the repo.
BTW, something about Artifactory’s schedule backups which surprised me: at
least in 3.x, they’re not cumulative. By that I mean, each time the backup
runs, it will delete files from your backup area which have been deleted from
the “real” repos. So to get a long-term backup, you need to separately back up
the backup area, at a time when you know there are no Artifactory scheduled
backups running.

Subject: [Artifactory-users] Importing a repository "over" an existing
repository
Hello.
If I import a repository from a path, what will happen to the existing
artifacts in that repository? What will happen for artifacts that exist in
both?
For example, if I accidentally deleted some artifacts from a repo, could I just
re import that repo from an older export of that. Would it complain about
conflicts? Would artifacts in the repo (but not in the export file) remain
after the export?
Thanks.
Dan
