Subject: SNDCTL_DSP_STEREO failed
hi there,
I have problems to start artsd in kde2 (2.0.1)
here's the output of start:
kcminit: Initializing libkcm_arts: init_arts
KInit: Got EXEC 'artswrapper' from socket.
Could not dlopen library artswrapper.la: file not found
Error while initializing the sound driver:
SNDCTL_DSP_STEREO failed - Invalid argument
Could not load library! Trying exec....
kdeinit: PID 708 terminated.
Launched ok, pid = 709
kdecore (KLibLoader): closing library libkcm_arts
kdecore (KLibLoader): Deleting KLibrary 0x80e7480 libkcm_arts
kdecore (KLibLoader): add pending close 0x80d8940
kdecore (KLibLoader): try to dlclose 0x80d8940: yes, done.
kdecore (KLibLoader): add loaded lib 0x80d8940
kcminit: Initializing libkcm_kmix: init_kmix
???
like allways, I don't have a glue what's going on here.
What I have do to?
When I start manually artswrapper -l 0 I get the following:
- ------------->8----------------------
>> running as realtime process now (priority 50)
device capabilities:
revision4
Error while initializing the sound driver:
SNDCTL_DSP_STEREO failed - Invalid argument
- ------------->8------------------------
or when I start artsd -l 0:
- ------------->8------------------------
device capabilities:
revision99
realtime
mmap
Error while initializing the sound driver:
SNDCTL_DSP_STEREO failed - Invalid argument
- ------------------>8-------------------
I use here alsa0.5.10 with os-emulation.
thanks for any help
Michael
