I am new to arts and trying to solve a particular problem. I need to use the one card in system and make it act like 2 sound cards.
I am thinking that I can probably do that by making one of my apps use the front 2 channels while the other one uses the 2 rear channels. I am not sure if ALSA allows multiple applications to use the sound device at the same time. But I am hoping that arts does. My sound card uses SigmaTel STAC9756 chip which is supported by both OSS and ALSA. I thought I'd ask here before embarking on the project. Please let me know if you think this is possible.
