Job Title: Systems Administrator (Linux and Solaris) Location: Pittsburgh, PA and Boston, MA Duration: 4-6 +Months Contract Skills: Preferred Experience is 5+ years of IT work experience with emphasis in unix systems administration. (Linux/ Solaris) Description: The job holder works among a team of systems administrators responsible for the installation, configuration, performance and maintenance of the client’s IT infrastructure. S/he participates in obtaining and/or defining requirements and designing, implementing and integrating solutions to meet requirements. S/he ensures adherence to corporate policies and department standards. Job holder must be: client focused; have strong verbal and written communication skills; able to manage multiple priorities, and;be able to investigate and resolve problems in a timely manner. Responsibilities: *Automation of tasks via shell and/or Perl scripting. *Configuration & Performance Management: Data collection,processing and reporting via 3rd Party and Open Source tools and shell/Perl scripts. *Hardware, Operating System and application installation,configuration and maintenance. *Document changes and maintain system administration documentation and standards. Qualifications: *Bachelor's degree or 5+ years equivalent work experience. *Must be strong in Korn/Borne Shell and/or Perl scripting. VB or WSH scripting a plus. *Open Source application administration experience including Cacti, RRDtool, MRTG, Nagios, MySQL, PHP. *WMI and ADSI. *Experience with x86 and SUN hardware. *Experience with at least 3 of the following: RedHat Linux 5,Solaris10, Solaris Zones, Windows 2003/2008 Server,Windows Storage Server, EMC Clariion arrays, Navisphere Manager, Brocade Fibre Channel switches.Additional Experience (bonus): *Hands-on experience with ITIL processes and procedures. *Fault, configuration and performance management experience. *Storage Area Network (SAN) administration. *NetBackup and DataDomain. *Virtualization (ESX/ESXi). Preferred Education is Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IS, or other related field. Preferred Experience is 5+ years of IT work experience with emphasis in systems administration.Must have excellent communication skills.
