* Job Description:*
- Should have telecom/Internet industry experience.
- Perform proactive monitoring of Teradata DB
- Database security administration: Maintain profiles, roles, access
rights and permissions for Teradata user groups and objects
- System administration activities: Create, modify, and delete
UNIX/Linux user-ids and passwords
- Backup and Restore (BAR) operations
- Participate in the planning and upgrades of software, check for
patches, updates
- Teradata metrics collection and reporting: Generate weekly and monthly
space and resource usage report, monthly performance report
- Identify and report on spool & table skews
- Perform weekly activities on checktable, packdisk, scandisk, DBQL Data
purge, access logging etc
- Plan, coordinate and administer media utilization (rotation, reuse,
expiration)
- Identify, analyze and tune heavy spooled out and skewed queries and
ETL jobs
