Please find below job details for your reference. *Job Title : **DB2 DBA Mainframe Support (Must have IDMS Experience)* *Job Location : Gwynn Oak/MD* *Job Type : Contract & Contract to hire* *Requires 10+ years IT related experience * *Scope of Task* The objective of this task is to provide IDMS and DB2 systems programming support for integration, training, acceptance, and production life cycles. The infrastructure that must be maintained includes: over 50 IDMS CVs and 30 DB2 subsystems across four life cycle environments, the installation and maintenance of over 10 vendor software packages. *In support of the task, the contractor shall perform activities such as those described in the sub-tasks below.* *Sub-Task 1: IDMS and DB2 Software Development and Maintenance* *Purpose:* Maintain, test, document, and deploy IDMS and DB2 system level software features and changes. *Activities:* The following activities shall be performed in accordance with standards, which will be provided, for building IDMS CVs, DB2 subsystems and adhering to life cycle and change control procedures: • Analyze requirements. • Develop detailed procedure documents for installation, maintenance and testing. • Install, test, and maintain IDMS and DB2 system software. • Meet with fellow management and staffs to develop requirements. • Manage the life cycle. • Coordinate software changes. *Sub-Task 2: Create New or Modify Existing IDMS and DB2 Architectures * *Purpose: *Create new or modify existing IDMS CVs, DB2 subsystems in support of new applications or database architecture re-engineering initiatives. *Activities: *The following activities shall be performed in accordance with standards, which will be provided, for building IDMS CVs, DB2 subsystems and adhering to life cycle and change control procedures: • Create new CVs and DB2 Subsystems for Integration, Training, Acceptance, and Production life cycles. • Upon Task Manager approval, complete appropriate change management documentation such as specific forms and Change Asset and Problem Reporting System (CAPRS). • Update appropriate IDMS and DB2 configuration documentation to reflect changes to the architecture. • Communicate and work with application developers and software testers to ensure all IDMS and DB2 resources are identified and defined appropriately. *Sub-Task 3: Problem Management and Production Support* *Purpose:* Problem resolution. *Activities:* • Customize commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) monitoring software to monitor the IDMS and DB2 production environment for problems. • Inform Management and Staffs of problems and subsequent resolutions.
