*Title: Apache Spark Developer Professional Day Length: 9.0 Contract Duration: 1 year Location: Jersey City, New Jersey* *Minimum Requirements:* *Key Responsibilities:* • Work with overall analytics team and quant desk to write analytics code, services and components in Java, Apache Spark, Kafka, Storm, Redis and related technologies such as Hadoop, Zookeeper • Responsible for systems analysis, Design, Coding, Unit Testing and other SDLC activities • Requirement gathering and understanding, Analyze and convert functional requirements into concrete technical tasks and able to provide reasonable effort estimates • Directly impacts the business by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; works closely with other teams as partner • Work proactively, independently and with global teams to address project requirements, and articulate issues/challenges with enough lead time to address project delivery risks • Providing expertise in technical analysis and solving technical issues during project delivery • Code reviews, test case reviews and ensure code developed meets the requirements *Must Have Experience:* • Java essential. Python, and R highly desired. • Apache Spark streaming and batch framework • Kafka, Storm, Zookeeper • Redis, Hadoop • Equities Electronic execution and/or analytics • Any knowledge of KDB+/Q would be helpful • Agile/Scrum methodology experience is required. • Service oriented architecture, and data standards like JSON, Avro, Protobuf • Strong communication skills, should be able to communicate effectively with business and other stake holders • Demonstrate ownership and initiative taking *Nice to have Skills:* • Prior experience of working collaboratively with quant/trading desks is highly desirable • Experience in SCMs like GIT, and tools like JIRA, uDeploy. • Responsible for systems analysis, Design, Coding, Unit Testing and other SDLC activities *Educational Qualification:* Bachelor's degree (BE, BS) or above. *Description:* *Title: Apache Spark Developer* Our Equities’ Cash Analytics Delivery team is responsible for implementing and maintaining suite of trading analytics applications. This includes batch and real time analytical services to rich GUIs for both internal traders and institutional clients. Centralized services provide pre trade/live/post trade analytics, and alerts based on order or market events to Sales and Trading applications, and external OMSs Team is currently implementing a new algo trading analytics platform leveraging big data technologies such as spark, storm, kafka, redis. The platform is going to be key to equities algo trading desk in 2017 and beyond. In addition, we’re looking to expand the overall analytics platform and make it more scalable, discoverable and open up as common interfaces and microservices to provide real-time and historical analytics and intelligence. We are seeking senior technologist, preferably with experience in Apache Spark, Kafka but overall a strong hands-on experience in developing backend services and server side components in Java. Candidate is also expected to have strong understanding of design/architecture fundamentals and patterns, OOPS, exceptions handling, coding standards, unit testing. Being part of technology team also means that minimum dev standards are expected including proper testing, code reviews, concept of segregated dev/uat/prod environments.
