This is a little nugget I remember from my childhood. A liar needs
a good memory, to remember who he lied to, and to continue the lie.

Case in point.

In a press release dated 12/23/2004 announcing the acquisition of
the Triangle property, Asbury Partners announces: "In keeping
with its commitment to support affordable housing and community
initiatives in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Asbury Partners, LLC
presented the City Council on November 5 with a $750,000 check,
representing the second installment of a planned $7 million
contribution. To date, the firm has donated $1 million."

Contrast this with the APP article dated 4/23/2004: "The city's
beachfront development company has made a second payment of $1
million, part of a total $7 million Asbury Partners contracted to
pay the city for affordable housing and community programs. Larry
Fishman, the company's chief operating officer, gave the $1 million
check to city officials during a meeting Wednesday afternoon. Last
year, Asbury Partners was six months late in paying the first $1
million in full"

So, according to the developer, they have given $1 million.
According to the APP, which I assume used City sources, they have
given $2 million over 8 months ago. Which source should be believed,
and why would someone have the need to either over-inflate or under-
state the donation given to the City?
