a few things that were posted recenlty, about bradley
park and its functions. about having it be a passive
park, with no major activites going on there. thats
all well and good. but if this city is ever going to
kick ass again, we have to make sure the whole city
doesnt turn into that "passive park"! i dont know
what asbury partners means, or what there really
thinking when they say "soho meets south beach" but to
me its heading towards a sleepy beach town. before
things get too far, it should be found out exaclty
whats going on (without stoping or slowing anything
down). history is great, but lets not go back too far
when it comes to keeping asburys history alive.
buildings and sites are great, but we dont have to
treat those buildings and sites with the same uses.
get some exciting stuff going on. nothing to do with
the previous post, but those boardwalk lights are
insane. yeah sure, there the same ones the city has
had for the last 30 years. but youd think something
better was on the way. where are the ones in the
artist renderings? wasnt there anything in the
contract with the city and asbury parnters about the
lights? or was that ignored or something? if those
are staying though, maybe if you spray them black or
white theyd look better (seriously, they wont look so
much like the ones on the street). it looks funny
going down ocean ave, and seeing double street lights
paralell to each other! if that makes sence.
