The planning and design for parking in the redevelopment area has
been a disaster from the begining. The initial discussion was for 3
spaces per unit built on the development sites.

That was 'negotiated' to 1.5 per unit on site and 1.5 on street. No
consideration was given for beachgoers or Con Hall/Paramount patrons.
Never mind if the Casino is ever restored.

There will be about 2K street spaces created at final build out. The
Hall/Para capacity alone is about 5K people. Consider a beach crowd
of 10K (the WNEW parties had 80K+) and figuring 2 people per vehicle.
7.5K vehicles into 2K spaces doesn't work.

Another huge oversight was that Ocean Grove's Auditorium events use
Asbury Park for parking along Wesley Lake. No consideration of that
overflow from 6K seats.

THE PLAN: Condos = YES, Visitors = NO, Visitors $$$ = NO

Regarding mass transit, there was a recent presentation at City Hall
to show off a rehabilitation plan of the train/bus station. Nice
graphics showing Asbury Park's "usage area". Ocean Grove not
included. It was the Asbury Park-Ocean Grove train station at one
time.
