I agree wholeheartedly that if everyone called the police about the on
goings in their neighborhood that much more would be done.  Sadly, most do
not.  Thus, neighborhood watches and COP programs are necessary.  

If we could get houses on every block to install cameras facing the street
and actively made available video to the police, I would guarantee that
crime would be lower in a year.

How about it guys?

Tom,

I can watch without a uniform and I call the police often. Yours is 
noble effort. Criminals generally laugh at auxiliary cops, but that 
is not the point; it is that extra eyes are watching. You wouldn't 
need such a patrol if most just called the police and informed and 
criminals knew that.
