I'D LIKE TO SEE EVERY RESIDENT OF A.P. GET A COPY OF THAT ARTICLE. AND YES, I THINK IT CAN HAPPEN, IF THE PEOPLE LET THE POWERS THAT BE KNOW THAT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE IS TO INCORPORATE ALL OF THE ELEMENTS OF ASBURY'S RICH PAST AND PRESENT INTO ANY PLAN FOR IT'S FUTURE. ASBURY WAS A GREAT, FUN PLACE FOR ANY KID TO GROW UP IN WHEN I DID IN THE 60'S AND BEYOND. IN THE 70'S YOU COULD SEE GREAT SHOWS W/ALL THE BIGGIES AT CONV. HALL ANY WEEKEND, AS WELL AS ALL THE BARS AND OTHER PLACES WHERE GREAT MUSIC WAS AND IS HEARD STILL. AND I SAY NOW, PLEASE DON'T DEVELOP THE FUN OUT OF ASBURY, AND DON'T TAKE IT AWAY FROM THE PEOPLE (THE FUN AND THE TOWN). I don't know how they could ever make it as much fun as when the Palace was there, the Casino w/my fave Bumper Cars, the mini golf and all the rides on the boards, the arcades where we could play all day on a dollar if you found the 'right' machine(s), or rent a paddle boat in the lake. Or go to a movie at the Baronet for what, $.50? HELL, EVEN BROKE there was always the ocean and beach, or we'd ask for some bread at the old Fischer bread plant on Fifth Ave, and go fish for sunnies in Sunset lake w/dough balls as bait, unless somebody had some kind of model boat w/a motor that we could amuse ourselves with. No, I don't SEE IT being THAT much fun again, but heck, I SURE WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM PROVE ME WRONG!!!
