We have four special police officers who have been doing a great job.
If we do not make them full-time officers soon we may lose them. That
would be penny-wise and dollar-foolish since they have already gone
through the academy and we will only wind up eventually hiring more
officers who need to go through training which is more expensive. We
are already below the number of officers we need already. The council
should move to hire them full-time before the end of the year.
