Where is the seed money for the commercial businesses to succeed on the West Side?
There needs to be a Marshall Plan for the West Side. We didn't build a bunch of condos in Germany -- or in Japan for that matter - and just fly home to the States. We helped them build companies, showed them winning business strategies -- Yankee Ingenuity - and probably made individual business loans, too. Housing is fine. But where do you work? These residents have shown they want to own businesses again. It's cruel to just say fine, here's your storefront, have a ball.
