It's almost 2 years since the last council election, May 10th. The
reason this ticket lost was primarily do to getting a late start and
being out raised financially by Rasberry Partners. But imagine if the
entire ticket won, I believe the picture of Asbury Park would be much
brighter and better today.

Dan had mentioned that the top three; Sanders, Bruno and Loffredo,
should never have been elected. True, but Asbury use to elect council
members based less on qualifications and more on how long your family
had been in Asbury Park. However, the rather recent arrival of Keady
and Johnson is showing this era is going away. Going but not gone, a
campaign still has to over come the Asbury family names.

But just look at what they turned down in a nut shell:

Stuart Koperweis - An economic developement specialist and skilled
administrator in the poltical world.

Ben Schneider - The former head of Asbury Parks Planning Committee.
He did an excellent job trying to get the waterfront and the city
developed in the proper fashion. Yet council ignored or butchered the
committees suggestions or voted against the important elements or
failed to enforce others.

And Jim Keady - Well he won and we are truly lucky to have him. In
the future we should help him get some allies on council. Who knows
maybe the other two might consider running again.
