I just sent this email to the city manager and the council. I suggest
each of you who feel that the matter of Werner's incarceration should
be looked into by the city contact the city manager and each council
member repeatedly until it is resolved fairly.
Gentlemen
I appeal to your sense of decency. Despite whatever issues anyone in
the city may have with Werner, he does not belong in jail for 45 days.
The public at large, as they learn of this, are becoming quite upset
as we see daily of violent criminals loose on bail while a citizen, on
code violations is sentenced to jail. I understand the matter may be
out of your hands per se, but I am asking our elected officials to see
what legally can be done. This is just not right. The people are
mobilizing to see that even handed justice is done in this matter.
