See who's receiving Communion in San Francisco
'I doubt even Judas would have done such a perverse thing'

A Catholic parish in San Francisco has been classified alongside
graphic San Francisco sex-fest sponsor Miller Brewing after officials
served Communion to members of the ultra anti-Catholic "Sisters of
Perpetual Indulgence," whose mockery of Christianity is legend in the
city.

The service was captured on video by a member of the Catholic group
St. Joseph's Men Society, and it has been made available Catholic
blogsite Quamdiu Domine.

Two "sisters" at Holy Redeemer church in San Franscico

"I doubt that even Judas would have done such a perverse thing as
this," said Anthony Gonzales, president of the men's
organization. "Not only did [Archbishop George] Niederauer sell out
our Lord for human respect but deliberately crucified Him again
within the very sanctuary of the church that he was consecrated to
protect. If Rome does not remove him immediately from his position
and excommunicate him for this evil, then Rome itself becomes
complicit in the crime. Enough is enough!"

The archbishop, in an diocese newspaper editorial scheduled for
publication next week, apologizes for serving the two "Sisters,"
explaining he didn't recognize who they were.

'Sisters' receiving Communion

He described the Oct. 7 event has routine. "The congregation was
devout and the liturgy was celebrated with reverence. I noticed no
demonstration, no protest, no disruption of the Eucharist," he writes
for the coming explanation.

"At Communion time, toward the end of the line, two strangely dressed
persons came to receive Communion. As I recall one of them wore a
large flowered hat or garland. I did not recognize either of them as
wearing mock religious garb," he said.

"Afterward it was made clear to me that these two people were members
of the organization 'Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,' who have long
made a practice of mocking the Catholic Church in general and
religious women in particular," he said.

"Although I had often seen photographs of members of the Sisters of
Perpetual Indulgence, I had never encountered them in person until
October 7th. I did not recognize who these people were when they
approached me. After the event, I realized that they were members of
this particular organization and that giving them Holy Communion had
been a mistake. I apologize to the Catholics of the Archdiocese of
San Francisco and to Catholics at large for doing so," he said.

"The manner of dress and public comportment of the Sisters of
Perpetual Indulgence is deeply offensive to women religious and to
the witness of holiness and Christian service that women religious
have offered to the Church and to the world for centuries. The
citizens of San Francisco have ample reason to be grateful to women
religious for their unfailing support of those most in need, and to
be deeply offended when that service is belittled so outrageously and
offensively.

"Someone who dresses in a mock religious habit to attend Mass does so
to make a point. If people dress in a manner clearly intended to mock
what we hold sacred, they place themselves in an objective situation
in which it is not appropriate for them to receive Holy Communion,
much less for a minister of the Church to give the Sacrament to them.

"Therefore I conclude that the presence of the Sisters of Perpetual
Indulgence at the Mass on October 7th was intended as a provocative
gesture. In that moment I failed to recognize it as such, and for
that, as I have said, I must apologize," he writes.

The service was held just days after downtown San Francisco was
flooded with open nudity, public acts of sex and other activities
related to the Folsom Street homosexual sex fair.

Catholics earlier reacted to the event itself by calling for a
boycott of the Miller Brewing Co. after the beer giant failed to have
its logo removed from a "gay"-festival promo mocking the iconic Last
Supper scene of Jesus Christ and his disciples.

Now a number of groups, including Americans for Truth about
Homosexuality, have been publicizing the stunt.

"Just when you thought it couldn't get any wackier: on Sunday, just a
week after the depraved, nudity-filled 'Folsom Street Fair' in San
Francisco, the city's Archbishop, George Niederauer, has been
photographed giving Communion to two Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence
in their mock 'nun' outfits," said a statement from AFTAH.

AFTAH chief Peter LaBarbera explained that the "Sisters" are men who
dress up in outlandish outfits and white make-up to mock Catholic
nuns. They adopt sexualized names including "Sister Porn Again" and
their motto is "Go forth and sin some more."

LaBarbera reported at this year's event one, "novice" was "Sister
Bambi Dextrous" who wore a T-shirt with the slogan "Bottom for Jesus"
referring to the act of homosexual sodomy.

The church, Most Holy Redeemer, already had a history of pushing
homosexual activism in violation of Roman Catholic Church teachings,
including granting permission to the "Sisters" to hold "Revival
Bingo" games there where porn DVDs and sex toys were used as prizes.

Allyson Smith, an analyst for Americans for Truth, noted that the
Catholic Church believes communion involves the actual "body and
blood of Jesus Christ" and such participation by
the "twisted 'sisters'" is offensive to many.

Her opinions were echoed abundantly on a response section to the
California Catholic News story about the situation:

May God have mercy on his soul," wrote "semperficatholic."

"We need to bulldoze to the ground every Catholic Church in S.F. and
send these left handed Catholics to the Masonic lodge where they
truly belong. Let Satan put up with them," added "pablo."

Mark was succinct: "Blasphemy."

"You could say the Archbishop has a 'wide stance' toward perversion-
enthusiasts in the church," added "Grandma Hat."

Said "Andrew," "What an abomination! It just boggles my mind and even
my whole being that the Archbishop actually participates in this
total desecration of the Holy Eucharist. He who should be defending
the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ is a willful
conduit to this abomination. It's very terrible and very sad –
there's no words to describe it. All good and holy people of San
Francisco and everywhere, please say a prayer of reparation and spent
a holy hour with the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament today. As Fr. John
Corapi ha[s] said a million times, SOMEBODY WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS
IN HELL SOMEDAY!!!!!"
It was the Catholic League that earlier protested Miller's
involvement in the event, and posted online under a parental warning
about graphic content photographs of the homosexual event on public
streets.

The Folsom Street Fair broke into the headlines with its promotional
image mocking the Last Supper scene of Jesus Christ and his
disciples, replacing the biblical leaders with leather-adorned men
and the bread and wine with sex toys.

The Catholic League had called a boycott of the Miller Brewing Co.
after the beer giant failed to have its logo removed from the event.

But officials say the brewer declined, and so it was distributing
photographs of the event to allow leaders, residents and workers in
the company's hometown see the results of the company's sponsorship.

"We have been informed by Miller Brewing that it is not prepared at
this time to offer assurances that it will never again sponsor an
anti-Christian event; it merely says that it is conducting an audit
of its marketing policies. Accordingly, our response to Miller's balk
is as follows," Donohue said.

"We are mailing pictures of the anti-Christian and sadomasochistic
Folsom Street Fair that Miller so proudly sponsors to Milwaukee
Archbishop Timothy Dolan and to the 211 Catholic parishes in the
archdiocese. We want all Catholics in Milwaukee to know exactly what
Miller stands for," he said.

He later announced that in addition to all Catholic parishes in the
Milwaukee area, all Protestant ministers also would be getting
information about the event.

"Certainly the people of Milwaukee will be disgusted to see this,"
said Kiera McCaffrey, director of communications for the
League. "That's why we feel it's important people actually see what's
going on."
