No, that's a bit rough.
Luckily here you can screw up your job pretty good and get a pat on
the back with a vote of confidence and "thanks for covering my ass",
get fired (with severance or hire a lawyer and sue), get a promotion
(so you're in someone else's department - see CYA above), transfer to
a new gig with company secrets, retire early with a nice payout, or
just Place the blame on "world markets" or your second in command...
As we can see in NJ politics....
