That's a no brainer.  It's human nature.  It wasn't "they"   It was one 
writer commenting on cable news.
 
As a whole the public is smart.  They vote Lehrer's News Hour on PBS  the #1 
trusted TV news program.  And they've made the NYT site the # 1  newspaper 
site.  But they do have lapses, as when they fall for Willie  Loman ads, 
Swiftboating lies, and believe Iraq was the cause of 9/11.
 
My reading comprehension got me quite a few scholarships.  That is  when I 
get to read comprehensible text,
