The art exhibit will take place in the lobby entrance of this beautiful historic building on Saturday between 4pm and 7pm. There will be wine, cheese, music and the artist himself sharing his beautiful inspirational collection of photography of Asbury Park like you’ve never experienced it before. Ruben Martinez’ most current series of photographs – “Aspirational Park” – feature the city of Asbury Park, New Jersey. His photos include iconic and recognizable Asbury Park landmarks such The Baronet Theatre, Convention Hall, Howard Johnson’s, (now Salt Water Beach Café), The Casino and Carousel , The Stone Pony and The Wonder Bar and the original Tillie. “Aspirational Park” has been appropriately named by Ruben for his debut exhibition that took place at Mattison Park as part of the TriCity Arts Tour this summer. Ruben has taken his love of photography to a new level, using digital technology to manipulate and enhance his images, ultimately processing them on canvas. The photographs are approximately 4 to 5 feet in diameter giving a larger-than-life feel and visual quality. The effect of the colorful images becomes almost 3-dimensional. Ruben also works in black and white as well as in Sepia. Ruben’s work can currently be viewed in local establishments throughout the city of Asbury Park on the walls of The Market Danieli (1408 Main Street), Salt Water Beach Café, and The Harrison Restaurant & Bar and soon to be featured at Shep Pettibone’s new restaurant, “Ketchup Grill.” “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase my artwork honoring the rich history of Asbury Park,” said Ruben Martinez. “I am also delighted to be to be supported by such local area businesses including the Arts Coalition of Asbury Park, Salt Water Beach Café, Mattison Park, The Market Daniel, just to name a few. I am always both honored and excited to have complete strangers come up to me and tell me how beautiful and how much they enjoy my work.” “ It is such a privilege and great feeling for me to get such wonderful positive comments about this work that truly is my passion. I am looking forward to exhibiting my work in such an appropriate venue like the Santander. I absolutely love this classic, iconic building and what it represented both in the past and what a gorgeous building and interesting building it is today. I look forwa rd to sharing my work and meeting people who share the love and progress that is happening today in this beautiful beach community .” The Santander _ View full size _ (http://pictures.aol.com/ap/singleImage.do?pid=05a0kflDo9HE7jMK9nFIL7NvnsmTSS06Xt0Wv4xQp5Fd3Ig=) **************Psssst...Have you heard the news?
