Create "another" asbury.
Maybe even smaller is better....
Look at tht town of Lake Como.
Would AP be better (I know the answer) if it were divided in two?
One approach would be the "East AP" and "West AP" but of course
people MIGHT consider that a racial boundry.
OR
North Asbury and South Asbury, using 2nd Ave as the boundry (using
Asbury Ave would make it a racial boundry).
"East Asbury would include the raiload tracks"
West Asbury would be Memorial, giving West AP their own "main street"
to develop.
East Asbury's focus is kid free, to go along with the boardwalk where
aboput 11 "new" or renovated places for alcohol were created while
one was completed for kids (mini g) and one in development (water
park)
Maybe west AP could get more money from the state to redo that side
of town and all the focus will be on west ap. Good ratables to start
with and maybe start up with shared services from neighboring towns
like neptune and Ocean twp. Ocean twp is renting out it's court room
now to west long branch etc. West AP coould be the first muni to kick
off a "new" era in managed muni government. Minimal admininstration.
East asbury can continue their focus and get rid of the headaches.
West AP can begin anew and focus on Springwood and Asbury Ave and
their new main street.....
and their own budget west asbury (or the town of south deal lake)
and would still be a very diversified town.
