I know most people don't want to spend money on cameras or are afraid they
might get seen doing something no one knows they do....

One of our clients owns a number of strip centers and office buildings - you
don't realize the crap people do to "make" money ....

a) we lost about thirteen AC Units from a couple strip centers. Many of them
were behind the building and one was right off the roof. Like your home ac
units outside your house - the copper and aluminum has value - and thieves rip
them off pretty fast and junk them.

b)oil tanks. Yep. Some dirt bag tried to rip off an external oil tank. Cut the
line and guess he panicked there was so much oil and ran without the tank.

c)"trip and fall" or "slip and fall". While many accidents happen, many are
actors looking to make a quick hit.

So my guy spent quite a few $ and installed lighting and a a bunch of cameras.
It may be a pain to go back and look at "film" for a few hours BUT:

 - the oil thief was caught
 - found a few leads on the ac thief
 - the last "trip and fall" was a the persons fault - she tripped on her feet -
not the sidewalk like she said.

Like they always say - a picture is worth a thousand words.

Technology can help even while it intrudes on our lives.
