The festival runs Friday, September 9 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, September 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, September 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Now in its 5th year, the Asbury Park Oysterfest is known for drawing thousands. Richie Tarzian, President of The Passion Group, a national event management group based in Asbury Park which has coordinated the Asbury Park Oysterfest since 2009 says "This is a huge, fantastic event which we expect will draw 35,000 to 40,000 visitors. Some people might think September is the end of the season but if you really know the Jersey Shore, you know that September marks the best month to enjoy all that Asbury Park and the Jersey Shore have to offer. The Passion Group is thrilled to once again be producing The Asbury Park Oysterfest and celebrating all that's good at the Jersey Shore oysters and other delicious food from the area's top restaurants, the amazing legacy that's made Asbury Park a musical landmark, and tons of family fun with crafts, rides and other amusements. There's something for everyone, set in a clean, well managed event venue." The Passion Group will coordinate seven festivals along the Jersey Shore this summer, making it the leader in producing New Jersey's summer celebrations. OYSTERS, OYSTERS & MORE A vast selection of Oysters will highlight the Festival, featuring signature specials from Lusty Lobster, Jake's Crab Shack, Harvest Specialties and FISH. Also participating are more than 25 area eateries like the Jersey Shore's famous Windmill Hot Dogs, Tenth Ave Burrito, Ragin' Cajun, Irene's Cuisine, Jersey Shore BBQ, Chippies and more festival favorites, plus an oyster eating contest with celebrity judges and oyster shucking. MUSICAL LINEUP Random Test, Michael Patrick's Ring of Fire Band (A tribute to Johnny Cash), Dub Proof, The Matt Wade Band, Refuze, Josh Zuckerman plus more musical acts will perform. DJ Bacardi Ardi and Rob Bush will be emceeing and DJ'ing between bands. "It's an amazing lineup of musical talent," says Jackie Pappas, Executive Director of the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce. "There's going to be great music all weekend long just what everyone expects from Asbury Park." Erin Patrick will wow the crowd with the national Anthem and a moment of silence on Sunday morning, in memory of 9/11.
