Asbury Park, NJ – "The Asbury Park Oysterfest has become one of
Asbury's biggest festivals," says Asbury Park Chamber of
Commerce Executive Director Jackie Pappas, "stretching over three
days and turning water-lined Lake Avenue into one long funway of
oysters, restaurant sampling, non-stop music, children's rides and
amusements, over 100 crafters and gift vendors, and cold beer and wine
stops, connecting Asbury's exciting downtown to its beautiful
oceanfront boardwalk."

The festival runs Friday, September 9 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday,
September 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, September 11, from
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Now in its 5th year, the Asbury Park Oysterfest is known for drawing
thousands.
Richie Tarzian, President of The Passion Group, a national event
management group based in Asbury Park which has coordinated the Asbury
Park Oysterfest since 2009 says "This is a huge, fantastic event
which we expect will draw 35,000 to 40,000 visitors. Some people might
think September is the end of the season but if you really know the
Jersey Shore, you know that September marks the best month to enjoy all
that Asbury Park and the Jersey Shore have to offer. The Passion Group
is thrilled to once again be producing The Asbury Park Oysterfest and
celebrating all that's good at the Jersey Shore – oysters and
other delicious food from the area's top restaurants, the amazing
legacy that's made Asbury Park a musical landmark, and tons of
family fun with crafts, rides and other amusements. There's
something for everyone, set in a clean, well managed event venue."

The Passion Group will coordinate seven festivals along the Jersey Shore
this summer, making it the leader in producing New Jersey's summer
celebrations.

NEW SPORTS LOUNGE
With Ice cold Coors Light along with other specialty craft beers, there
is no place you would rather watch the Rutgers game on Saturday or your
favorite NFL team on Sunday than our all new Sports Lounge. Located in
the heart of the event with HD plazma TV's and high top tables
throughout, this is no doubt going to be the place to be for all you
Oyster-Eating Sports Fans!

OYSTERS, OYSTERS & MORE
A vast selection of Oysters will highlight the Festival, featuring
signature specials from Lusty Lobster, Jake's Crab Shack, Harvest
Specialties and FISH. Also participating are more than 25 area eateries
like the Jersey Shore's famous Windmill Hot Dogs, Tenth Ave Burrito,
Ragin' Cajun, Irene's Cuisine, Jersey Shore BBQ, Chippies and
more festival favorites, plus an oyster eating contest with celebrity
judges and oyster shucking.

MUSICAL LINEUP
Random Test, Michael Patrick's Ring of Fire Band (A tribute to
Johnny Cash), Dub Proof, The Matt Wade Band, Refuze, Josh Zuckerman plus
more musical acts will perform. DJ Bacardi Ardi and Rob Bush will be
emceeing and DJ'ing between bands. "It's an amazing lineup
of musical talent," says Jackie Pappas, Executive Director of the
Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce. "There's going to be great
music all weekend long – just what everyone expects from Asbury
Park." Erin Patrick will wow the crowd with the national Anthem and
a moment of silence on Sunday morning, in memory of 9/11.

  FUNF OR THE KIDS TOO
If the kids are itching for the last taste of summer before school kicks
in, this is the place to let them run. Spin their non-stop energy on
super big inflatables, amusement rides, games and face painting.

CLOSE TO 100 CRAFTERS AND VENDORS
Our craft and vendor area is its own outdoor mini mall, with handmade
candles, vintage video games, unique jewelry, handbags and clothing plus
artful beer steins, photography, jewelry, even mini massages and
temporary tattoos.
